For entrepreneurs and companies operating internationally, rail transport is an excellent option: it is cheaper than air freight and faster than sea freight.
If you or your company wish to benefit from cheap and fast deliveries, trains are the ideal solution, providing efficient and reliable logistics.
Generally, it takes 2-3 weeks for rail freight to reach its destination. Often, rail transport requires changing wagons, for example, when entering Russian territory, because there are different types of railways and track distances depending on the country.
The main advantage of transporting goods by rail is the absolute safety of your parcel. In fact, once loaded, they are sealed and not opened until they reach the final sorting center.
However, if there are too many orders for the same destination and one of the trains encounters a problem en route, delays can quickly arise. If one package is damaged or becomes the source of the problem, it will obviously cause delays for other packages.
Know that millions of packages are sent out of Asia every month, and the vast majority of them reach their final destination without any problems. The only thing you need to do when placing an order is to be patient!
Customers apply to our company Mooreman Supply Chain, requesting to transport goods by rail or just to transport goods, we will choose the best delivery route for the goods based on "full understanding of the goods" - railway transportation.
The customer provides weight, volume, number of packages, Chinese city and shipping conditions, final delivery city in the Russian Federation. We will calculate the estimated costs related to logistics for you. If the client is happy with everything, then we start the process.
We clarify to the client whether his legal entity is registered with customs, where the goods are cleared. If not, then we will ask for a list of documents required for registration.
These documents are then sent to the broker, who will release the goods from customs ("clearance") and provide them to the customs post office for registration.
We ask for the supplier's contact details and contact him in China. We confirm with the supplier that the goods are ready to ship or the date the goods will be ready, and we reserve a place for that goods in the container for a specific date.
The goods arrive at the line warehouse located near the railway station with a pack of accompanying documents (multiple copies) - invoice, packing, export declaration. Shipments are weighed, recalculated and parcels are measured here. Afterwards, the data is checked against the packing list.
If at this stage, there is a discrepancy between the data in the packing list provided by the supplier and the actual data, the supplier has the opportunity and time to correct the packing list. Also, the goods are placed in containers.
The container is then cleared through customs and sealed for further loading onto the platform.
After passing all customs procedures and verifications, the container is loaded onto the train platform. Also at this stage, the railway invoice is drawn up and signed.
Then the train goes to the border to cross it. Check the rail waybill immediately and mark it when crossing the border.
At this stage, information about the goods in transit is provided and a transit declaration is drawn up based on this information (since the goods are not cleared at the border but sent further). Afterwards, the train continues to the terminus of the route.
After the goods arrive, they will be stored in the temporary storage warehouse, marked on the railway bill of lading, and a report on the acceptance of the goods by the temporary storage warehouse will be provided. The report is sent to the broker, from that moment the broker fills the cargo declaration, the customer pays the customs duties and sends us the payment slip with the bank's mark (we send them to the broker). In addition, the broker provides the entire set of documents to customs.
After the customs declaration form (goods declaration form) is released, the goods can be picked up from the temporary storage warehouse. The cargo owner picks up the cargo, or a person representing his interests (this issue is discussed in advance and a power of attorney provided by the cargo owner is prepared).
If further delivery of the goods is required in the Russian Federation, after exporting the goods from the temporary warehouse, we deliver the goods to the branch of the local transport company.
